Scholarship Overview
The Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship offers comprehensive support for international students living outside Japan who plan to attend graduate school at APU. The scholarship covers:
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly living allowance of 140,000 JPY for two years (Masters and PhD students)
- Economy class airfare and travel-related expenses up to 250,000 JPY
Eligibility Requirements
- Non-Japanese citizenship (including dual nationals)
- Residing outside Japan before the program starts
- Total stay in Japan not exceeding 31 days (exceptions for family-related stays before completing education or participation in the Rotary Youth Exchange high school program)
- Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N4 level or higher
- Born on or after April 2, 1980
- Not a previous Rotary Yoneyama Scholar
- Must obtain a student visa for Japan
How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply for the 2026 APU Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship:
- Request consideration for the scholarship through the APU Online Application System.
- Submit your application to the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship Organization by October 20, 2025, for an April 2026 start.
- Notify the scholarship organization that APU will send a Letter of Recommendation after the application deadline.
- Once admissions results are released, APU will provide the Letter of Recommendation to selected candidates.
- Submit the Letter of Recommendation to the scholarship organization.
