Detailed Studentship Details

This is a full time job in research The student will be in an MSc by Research program and will spend the whole time working on the lab project that was assigned to them. 

The job will require a number of cell and molecular biology procedures like PCR western blotting cell culture and other tests to look at cell death and survival. The objective is to finalize an original research project that will constitute a masters thesis and may contribute to scholarly publications

Desirable CriteriaPast work in a research lab such as being a research assistant for an undergraduate thesis doing internships in a lab or working in a lab Practical competence in any of the approaches listed above Cell culture for PCR western blot is a big bonus

Studentship Benefits

The studentship gives full financial support including

  • Tax Free Allowance For the length of the project a significant living allowance is given The actual amount is usually in line with the rates set by the Irish Research Council which are about €22000 a year tax free
