Nama Wellness Community Centre (NAWEC) is a Ugandan non-governmental organization founded in 2014, dedicated to providing equitable and quality healthcare services to rural communities in Mukono District and beyond, with a focus on maternal and child health, community health worker (CHW) empowerment, and mental health interventions.
NAWEC uses a community-led health system concept to fill important healthcare shortages in rural Uganda. By incorporating qualified Community Health Workers (CHWs) into the national healthcare system, it seeks to eliminate avoidable deaths among women and children.
