The Carter Center is a nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, in partnership with Emory University. It is dedicated to advancing peace, democracy, and health worldwide by addressing difficult conflicts, promoting human rights, and eradicating diseases.
