Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will help make sure that the Clinical Trials Center of Excellence goals are met at several research sites. This job includes coordinating purchases, handling the logistics of training, keeping documentation systems up to date, making sure that rules are followed, and keeping track of project milestones to improve clinical research in Rwanda.
What is the King Faisal Hospital Rwanda Foundation?
The King Faisal Hospital Rwanda Foundation (KFHRF) works to improve health care via research, education, and programs that help those in need. Founded in 2020, the Foundation helps medical researchers by giving them money, training, and working with top universities. KFHRF is leading the way in healthcare innovation and creating long-term clinical research capacities in Rwanda in partnership with the University of Global Health Equity, the Karolinska Institutet, and the International Vaccine Institute.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help the Project Manager plan and carry out operations related to building and buying infrastructure
- Plan and run workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs for professional growth
- Keep track of how well the project is going, including training results and research results
- Keep an eye on regulatory milestones, such as Good Clinical Practice certificates.
- Keep project records, databases, and monitoring systems up to date and in good shape
- Help with submissions to the Institutional Review Board and following the rules
- Work with the Rwanda FDA and other regulatory bodies
- Plan and organize meetings for the Executive and Scientific Committees
- Write accurate minutes of the meeting and make sure that action items are followed up on
- Help with communication between research teams and community involvement units
- Help the operations of the ethical training committee
- Write weekly and monthly reports on success for leaders and donors
- Handle the logistics of buying things and make sure that project materials are delivered on time
- Plan meetings and activities for stakeholders and partners
- Keep an eye on the project's deadlines and milestones
- Keep track of the budget and report on finances
- Keep up with research protocol documents
- Help establish project work plans and methods for putting them into action
Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in public health, health sciences, project management, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
- At least two years of experience coordinating projects or running health programs is required.
- Experience with clinical trials, global health programs, or biomedical research is also required.
- Knowledge of research ethics and IRB processes is also required.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements is also required.
- Great at organizing things and doing more than one thing at once
- Good at writing and speaking
- Very detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Good at working with other people and coordinating with stakeholders
- Good at using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Has used project management tools before
- Being able to speak English and Kinyarwanda fluently
- Knowing French (a plus)
- Ability to work well with people from different fields
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines
- Experience with monitoring and assessment systems
- Understanding of clinical research methods
