Job Description

Job Title: Technical Assistant

SeaOwl Energy Services is the name of the organization.

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities

The major duty of the person in this job is to:

  • Show that you care about HSE performance in line with Total Group goals,
  • Plan, develop, and follow up on the use of MAESTRO on site and the HSE policies that are related to site logistics operations.
  • Identifies, drives, promotes, and works on projects for continuous improvement (also known as innovation projects) by improving the tools, systems, services, and operating procedures used;
  • Set LSO deliverables in the integrated asset planning with Planning & Coordination, and make sure to keep updating the predicted logistics assets needed, operational plans, and budgets through a good feedback loop.
  • Make sure that Logistics referential and TEPU processes are followed by all users and that they are consistent.
  • In responsible of setting up the right tools and processes on site, developing REX, and being the main point of contact for the LSO/MTH/Innovation team on site.
  • Do technical analysis and help with different evaluations,
  • Talk to other technical groups to organize activities and check on their progress.
  • Keep the Logistics Anomaly reporting database on site (in Synergy or Excel) and make sure that the right measures are taken.
  • Make sure that the Logistics downgraded situations and Management of Change databases are kept up to date and in good shape according to how the business runs.
  • Attends the SQM (Safety Quality Meeting) with LSO contractors and makes sure that any recommendations or actions that need to be taken are followed up on.
  • Help put the key performance indicator instruments into use as the activities change.
  • Keep the Department Action Plan and planning up to date.

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

A bachelor's degree in engineering or something like.

Experience

  • At least five years of expertise in project logistics at a senior level, with a lot of understanding of onshore projects.
  • Managing logistics in the oil and gas business, which is particularly busy and demanding, as well as in significant offshore projects and fields,
  • Experience working onshore in Health, Safety, and Environment operations for big and complicated oil and gas projects. Able to work under pressure and stressful conditions, adapt, analyze problems, and talk to everyone. Also, able to write Standing Instructions and Procedures.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP and database management tools including MS Access, Word, Project, and Excel.
