The Electoral Commission of Uganda is an independent group that is in charge of overseeing and managing elections in Uganda. Its job is to make sure that elections are free, fair, and credible, and to protect citizens' democratic rights to take part in politics.

Job Details
Title/Position: City or District Tally Clerk
Duty Station: City/District Tally Center
Reports to: the Election Administrator or Returning Officer
Type of Engagement: Short-Term (From January 10 to February 10, 2026)
Total Positions: 888 across the country
Responsibilities, Roles, and Duties
- Putting the official DR form's election results into the results management system.
- Checking that the results that were captured match the official DR form to make sure they are complete and correct.
- Making sure that the results management software keeps track of all the outcomes for each election.
- Keeping all electoral data and documents completely private and safe.
- Making sure that DR forms are filed correctly and stored safely when the results are entered into the software.
- Following the instructions of the Returning Office and the IT Support Officer to set up the Tally equipment at the Tally Center.
- Checking and testing the program to make sure that all applicants and administrative units have been added to the software for each elective area.
- They are in charge of keeping the Tally equipment they will be using safe and the DR forms they have at the time of admission.
- Unpacking all the tally equipment to keep the tally location safe and then taking it back to the district headquarters for safekeeping.
- Any other tasks that the supervisors may give you.
Qualifications, Education & Skills Required
- At least the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent.
- Diploma holders with proven data entry experience are encouraged to apply.
- At least six months experience in data entry or related electronic/clerical records work is an added advantage.
