Job Summary
The Training Officer - Bancassurance will identify training needs and deliver comprehensive programs to enhance the skills of Old Mutual Uganda’s Life Insurance sales team in Agency and Bancassurance channels. The role ensures compliance with regulations, fosters professionalism, and drives performance to support the company’s mission of shaping a better financial future.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
Learning and Development
- Conduct training needs analyses and develop tailored training plans for Life Insurance intermediaries
- Organize training programs for new salespeople in Agency and Bancassurance channels
- Create, update, and deliver training materials aligned with company policies and industry standards
- Coordinate incentive and motivation training sessions using internal and external resources
- Oversee continuous learning programs to enhance sales team knowledge and performance
- Administer product knowledge assessments to ensure intermediaries’ expertise in Old Mutual’s Life Insurance products
- Provide technical training to intermediaries on product details and processes
Recruitment and Compliance
- Lead recruitment and training of new salespeople for Agency and Bancassurance channels
- Ensure Life Insurance Agents and Bancassurance Specified Officers are registered and certified per Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) requirements
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and external regulatory standards
- Regularly review recruitment and training processes for relevance and effectiveness
Career Development and Performance Support
- Conduct orientation and career development sessions for agents and Bancassurance Specified Officers
- Contribute to product development committees with feedback on training and product performance
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to intermediaries to enhance career growth and performance
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Duties
- Ensure compliance with Old Mutual’s AML, sanctions, and regulatory policies
- Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) checks
- Report potential AML or compliance violations to the Risk and Compliance Office
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Professional qualification in Insurance, Learning & Development, or a related field is an advantage
- Prior experience in Bancassurance, Insurance Sales, or Training and Development is preferred
