Job Summary

SWICO is looking for a highly talented and driven Business Analyst to join our IT team By examining business procedures and making sure. IT systems serve the organization's strategic goals in a safe, scalable, and effective way, this position plays a crucial part in coordinating technical solutions with business goals

Roles, Responsibilities, and Duties

  • Examine and record business procedures, workflows, and needs for underwriting, claims, and policy administration, among other essential insurance functions
  • Gather, verify, and oversee functional and business needs from several stakeholders
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications that development and testing teams may follow
  • Work together with cross-functional teams from IT, finance, operations, compliance, and actuarial to coordinate project objectives and execution
  • Assist with digital transformation projects, data migrations, integrations, and system deployments
  • Create use cases, functional specifications, process flow diagrams, and business requirements documents (BRDs)
  • Conduct training sessions, facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and offer post-implementation user assistance
  • Assure adherence to industry and regulatory standards, including IFRS 17 and the directives of the insurance regulatory body
  • Track and document project development, spot problems, and assist with problem-solving procedures

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

EducationA bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a similar discipline

Other Qualifications and Skills:
Three to five years of experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, or comparable position
Practical experience in data integration, system installation, and user support
Proficiency with databases (such as SQL, Oracle, and MySQL) and a firm grasp of SDLC techniques are essential
It is advantageous to have prior experience with enterprise business software such as CRM, ERP, or others
Professional qualifications that are pertinent (such as CBAP, ITIL, Microsoft, and Oracle) are a great advantage
Preferred Proficiencies:
Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities
Outstanding written and vocal communication ability
The capacity to comprehend and convert commercial needs into technological outputs
Knowledge of system design tools and process modeling
Excellent comprehension of IT security standards and attention to detail
A cooperative attitude paired with excellent time-management and organizing abilities
