Opportunity Bank is looking for an IT Database Administrator to plan coordinate use and manage databases including Oracle and MS-SQL relational databases as well as create system reports in the core banking system

• Set up install and configure databases according to IT policy
• Give names to different parts of data (such transaction codes elements tables records and schema) and keep track of them
• Set up the right security measures to limit who can access the database
• Check backups logs journals and transaction statistics every day to make sure the database is safe
• Make sure that data is sent out and copied in a controlled way across Disaster Recovery (DR) sites
• Plan and carry out testing of how well physical database architectures work
• Set aside disk space for new data tables and keep an eye on how much space they need
• Take care of schema and sub-schema libraries and answer requests for data views
• Make and carry out plans for backing up and recovering databases
• Check operating data to make sure they meet performance standards
• Keep records for both the test and production database settings
• Write reports on all database systems on a regular basis (performance cost and use)
• Help users with the Core banking and other business apps that go with it
• Help with the Credit Reference Bureau
• Process end-of-day transactions in the main banking system
• Make and develop correct system reports and make sure they are available to users on time
• Do any other tasks that the boss gives you

• At least three years of experience managing databases
• Worked with database support and development in both transactional and DSS settings
• Have worked with scripts to make reports
• A lot of experience with Oracle MS SQL and Sybase databases
• Knowing how to code in SQL and PL/SQL
• Familiarity with the Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems

• Proven ability to turn business needs into technology solutions
• Proven ability to come up with creative and analytical ways to solve difficult technical problems
• Has shown that they can balance prioritize and arrange more than one task at a time
• A lot of energy inventiveness adaptability enthusiasm commitment self-confidence and initiative
• Being accurate paying attention to details and being mindful of deadlines
• Self-starter who works hard and takes the lead
