GardaWorld, a global leader in security services, is looking for an IT Support Engineer to maintain IT infrastructure, provide quick technical help, and make sure that all systems in Uganda run smoothly.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
Help with and manage incidents
- Keep an eye on and handle IT requests so they get fixed quickly
- Fix problems with hardware, software, and network connections
- Keep users informed and raise complicated concerns when necessary
Maintaining hardware and software
- Set up, install, and keep up IT hardware including laptops and printers
- Make sure that laptops are compliant with company standards by imaging them
- Keep track of IT assets and keep correct records
Networking and Infrastructure
- Set up and keep networking equipment like routers, switches, and access points in good working order.
- Keep an eye on the IT infrastructure, including server rooms and network devices.
- Help with wiring and setting up workstations when the office grows.
Help and train users
- Give end-users hands-on technical help and training
- Teach users about IT policies, processes, and best practices
Managing Access and Security
- Handle requests for system access and turn off tasks
- Make sure that company security regulations are followed
Sharing knowledge and writing things down
- Keep accurate records of incidents and solutions
- Update knowledge base articles so that users may help themselves
Help with IT in general
- Offer remote help around the clock when needed
- Make sure that old equipment is disposed of properly
Education, skills, and qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or a related discipline
- 4 or more years of expertise in IT support or a similar field
- Ability to debug hardware, software, and networking problems
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and Microsoft products
- Knowing how to set up and use networking equipment
- Great communication and people skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- A customer-focused attitude and a commitment to providing excellent service
- Available for on-call help and travel from time to time
