Alight is looking for a reliable and passionate On Call Driver to help with our life-changing programs in Uganda. About the Job
The On Call Driver will report to the Head Driver and is in charge of making sure that Alight vehicles are safe to drive and are kept in good condition for official travel both inside and outside of Kampala. This is a temporary job that will only be needed when needed.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drive the allocated vehicles safely and according to all movement schedules and Ugandan traffic laws.
- Check the vehicle's battery, water, oil, lights, and other parts every day to make sure it is in good operating order.
- Always keep the car clean, fueled, and well-lubricated.
- Keep the official motor vehicle log book up to date.
- Tell your boss right away if you have any mechanical problems or needs.
- Help find and do little repairs on cars.
- Be responsible for all tools and accessories for the car.
- Help program personnel with logistics and other activities as needed.
- Do any other tasks that the boss gives you.
What You Need

| Certifications | A Defensive Driving Certificate that is still valid. |
| Driver's License | A valid Ugandan driver's license with classes B, CM, DL, and CH. |
| Experience | At least five years of professional driving experience. |
| Additional Advantage | Having worked in places with people from other cultures is a plus. |
| Location | People who want to apply must live in Greater Kampala or nearby locations. |
