Job Summary

The Process Control Engineer will provide process engineering expertise to line teams, optimizing production processes, facilitating problem-solving, and maintaining a safe work environment. The role supports decision-making, team collaboration, and efficient operations in Uganda’s energy sector.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

System Optimization and Standards

  • Improve hardware and software standards for PLC and SCADA systems, servers, and networks
  • Manage Microsoft server software and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Oversee PLC devices and production processes
  • Apply S88 batch control standards and manage field instrumentation and networks
  • Handle SCADA systems and maintain measurement devices and field instruments through calibration

Problem-Solving and Team Optimization

  • Assist with problem-solving to facilitate quick decision-making
  • Optimize team performance and foster collaboration
  • Maintain a risk-free, healthy, and safe work environment

Asset and Inventory Management

  • Keep asset registers updated
  • Maintain stock levels for instrumentation and hardware spare parts
  • Understand VPO usage best practices

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in Control and Automation
