What the Job Is
Title of the job: Technical Project Manager
ChapChap is the name of the organization.
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary: You will be in charge of a small, dedicated technical team and will be the main link between engineering and product goals. You will lead our Agile procedures and promote the use of ClickUp to keep our team on the same page, working efficiently, and focused on delivering value.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Agile and Sprint Leadership: Help a small team plan, run, and oversee our Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Project Coordination: Set sprint goals, make clear roadmaps, and keep an eye on timeframes and resources to make sure everything is delivered on time.
- Management of ClickUp: You can only manage and keep track of our project backlogs, boards, and processes on ClickUp. Set up and create tasks, custom fields, and views to make the most of our development lifecycle. Use ClickUp to make and distribute important reports and dashboards that show your progress (such burndown and velocity) and keep everyone up to date.
- Technical Liaison: Use your strong technical knowledge to turn business needs into clear, actionable user stories and technical assignments for the development team.
- Removing Obstacles: Find, track, and help remove any barriers, dependencies, or dangers that could get in the way of the team's sprint goals.
- Team Communication: Be the main point of contact for the project, making sure that your team and important stakeholders are constantly on the same page.
- Process Improvement: Actively study and assist us improve our Agile processes and ClickUp usage so that the team can work more efficiently and get more done.
Requirements, Education, and Skills
- 1–2 years of experience as a project coordinator, team leader, or scrum master.
- Agile credential, like Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
- Have experience setting up automations or sophisticated features in ClickUp.
- Understanding of the whole Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Qualifications Needed:
- This is a must-have: a strong technical background.
- You need to have a degree in Computer Science or a similar amount of professional experience as a software developer, QA engineer, systems analyst, or any technical function where you work with your hands.
- Willingness to Learn: You really want to move up to a formal project management role and are excited to learn on the job.
- Agile Understanding: You need to have a good understanding of Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban and really want to use them in real life.
- Tool Proficiency: You should be able to show that you have used ClickUp to handle tasks and projects. You don't have to be a qualified expert, but you should know how to use its basic features.
- Communication and Organization: Great talents in talking to people, organizing things, and getting along with others. You can explain complicated technological concepts to different groups of people, and you might be able to lead and inspire a team.
