The Uganda National Medical Stores (NMS) is a government-owned company that is in charge of buying, storing, and delivering important medicines and medical supplies to public health facilities all over the country. Its goal is to provide the people of Uganda with high-quality medicines and health supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
The NMS Act created the institution in 1993. Since then, it has become an important part of Uganda's healthcare system, known for being honest, open, and dependable in managing the public health supply chain.
NMS has a performance-driven culture that encourages accountability, creativity, and professional growth. It offers a wide range of jobs in logistics, pharmacy, IT, procurement, and administration, with both field and office-based work options.
It has always used technology to make things run more smoothly, especially with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and a world-class pharmaceutical warehouse in Kajjansi that helps it reach customers all over the country.
NMS is guided by the basic values of professionalism, teamwork, customer attention, and integrity. It has a large network that serves all government hospitals and health facilities.
Its CSR work is mostly about teaching people about health in the community, building up their skills, and helping with disaster and emergency response.
NMS is still improving Uganda's health system by being committed to public service and coming up with new ideas for how to do things.
