Job Summary:

The Uganda Network of Businesses (UNB) is offering 4th Cohort Communication and Outreach Internships for young professionals to get real-world experience in digital communication, content development, and engaging stakeholders while helping Uganda's business community.

About the Group:

The Uganda Network of Businesses (UNB) is a group of enterprises that started in 2006. It helps people develop, run, and expand safe, legal, and ethical businesses.

UNB promotes ethical business practices that produce good jobs and make Uganda's entrepreneurial environment stronger through research, advocacy, and skills development.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

Create interesting posts for blogs, social media, and newsletters
Write and send out press releases, updates, and activity reports.
Help with digital marketing campaigns to get people involved
Keep an eye on and evaluate website and social media stats.
Keep UNB's website and digital platforms up to date and in good shape
Talk to businesses and other interested parties to get them to support UNB projects.
Write internal communications to keep things consistent within the department.
Help with events that promote networking and creating partnerships.
Use outreach activities to make the organization's voice louder.
Build relationships with business stakeholders

Education, Skills, and Qualifications

Working on or having just finished a degree in Communication, ICT, Public Relations, Marketing, or a similar subject
Good written and spoken communication skills
A love of storytelling and reaching out
Familiarity with design and management tools for social media (such as Canva and the Adobe Suite).
Self-motivated and able to work alone.
An interest in starting a business or growing a business.
A creative mind and a desire to gain digital skills.
Prior experience in communications (helpful but not necessary)
Interest in becoming involved in the community
