Job Summary:
Uganda Network of Businesses (UNB) is providing 14 Policy Analyst Intern positions for its 4th Cohort. This three-month remote internship gives you hands-on experience in policy analysis, research, and corporate lobbying. You can work about 30% of the time when it works for you.

About the Group:
The Uganda Network of Businesses (UNB) is a non-profit business membership group that was started in 2006.
Its purpose is to help Ugandans develop, run, and expand safe, legal, and ethical enterprises. UNB works to improve good jobs and fair trade by advocating for, training, networking, and analyzing policies that help businesses grow.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Help establish and add to the agenda for policy analysis
- Write idea notes, budgets, work plans, and activity reports
- Help spread advocacy materials to people who need them.
- Keep an eye on and study government policies that affect the business ecosystem.
- Oversee UNB's platforms for policy involvement
- Talk to businesses to find out what policy issues they have.
- Write policy communication papers for advocacy
- Encourage networking and collaborations for advocacy based on evidence
Important Deliverables:
- Proposals for funding and concept notes
- Activity reports and work plans
- Policy briefs and position papers
Qualifications, education, and skills
- Working toward or having just finished a degree in a discipline relating to economics, business, law, development studies, or something similar
- Good at both writing and speaking
- Knowledge of data analysis tools
- A basic understanding of AI for policy research
- Able to work on your own and be self-motivated
- Good at managing time and setting priorities
- Interest in developing business ecosystems
- Previous experience with policy analysis (helpful but not essential)
