TASO Staff Cooperative Society Limited (TASCOS) is looking to fill the position of SACCO Administrator . This individual will be responsible for posting and balancing the SACCO books of accounts and computer systems as well as preparing timely financial reports plans and budgets Before any vouchers are entered into the SACCO's books of accounts , it is imperative that they are properly authorized and approved by the appropriate authorities
Important Obligations and Legal Obligations
- This involves putting in place the existing internal financial controls
- In a timely manner you are required to prepare and submit monthly quarterly yearly and any other relevant financial reports
- Conduct timely reviews of the bank reconciliations
- For the purpose of ensuring that the petty cash system is correctly maintained it is necessary to perform periodic and surprise cash counts
- Examine all requests for payments or loans to ensure that they are comprehensive and contain sufficient paperwork to back them up
- Make sure that the funds that are advanced for activities also known as contingency funds are accounted for within forty-eight hours of the conclusion of the activity in question
- When it comes to statutory deductions it is imperative to ensure that they are correctly accounted for and submitted to the appropriate authorities within the specified timeframes
- In order to prepare financial accounts for the purpose of external auditing
- For the SACCO it is necessary to coordinate the external audit exercise
- Compile and aggregate the annual budget for the SACCO system
- The task at hand is to prepare and submit variance reports and other management reports as required
- Offer assistance in the areas of technical and financial management on behalf of the SACCO
- Ensure that the finances of the SACCO are utilized appropriately and that prompt accountability is maintained
- Please organize executive meetings on a quarterly basis
- Ensure that the SACCO Annual General Meeting is organized in a timely manner
- Ensure that the SACCO Assets/Inventory registry is kept up to date
Experience Skills and Qualifications
- Applicants are required to possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce as well as two years of experience working in a position that entails significant accounting responsibilities within a renowned SACCO or organization preferably a non-governmental organization (NGO)
Knowledge that is Unique
- An understanding of the processes involved in financial accounting
- The individual possesses knowledge of planning budgeting reporting and auditing
- Possessing an understanding of SACCO and cooperative management
Skills that are Essential
- supervisory abilities organizational abilities public relations abilities and hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Word Excel and other accounting software programs
- Additionally the individual possesses a high level of honesty and integrity a suitable degree of assertiveness and the ability to speed up and accurately perform tasks
