The organization uses its resources and knowledge to help people in need, whether they are dealing with natural catastrophes, wars, or health issues.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Help with making monthly financial reports for the field that include posts in the SUN Systems, bank reconciliations, journal entries, personal advances, balance reports, grand summary sheets, supporting payment vouchers, and a summary of all expenses.
Make sure that project budgets and cash flows are in line with donor needs, financial policies and procedures, and give project teams advice on what to do to reach their goals in keeping with donor criteria.
Check that the program's expenses are properly documented, coded, and meet donor standards. Also, make sure that they follow WVU's financial policies, have enough money in the budget, and make any required changes or corrections.
Make sure that costs follow WVU rules and regulations, as well as the finance manual.
Making sure that all payments are fair, legal, and appropriate for the project so that they can be prepared and accessed on time. This This includes working with project workers, procurement, and operations to make sure that all payments are properly backed up.
Get project grants ready for audits, look over the project and financial audit suggestions, and help put them into action. Make sure that there is a good plan in place to make sure that the recommendations are carried out on time.
Check mobile money payments against mobile money registration forms, participant registrations, attendance forms, authorized activity requests (AAR), approved activity concepts, activity budgets, and all other support documents from the project implementation teams.
Make sure that the internal controls for online banking and mobile money are stricter to lower the dangers.
Tell the Project Manager and Project Team about any areas that could affect the systems of internal controls and procedures.
Make and change program budgets and cash flows to meet the needs of donors, financial rules and procedures, and let management know what they need to do to reach their goals in line with donor criteria.
Work with the National Office's Grants team to keep grant files up to date with proposals, grant agreements, budgets, financial reports, World Vision Uganda narrative reports, cost extensions, no cost extensions, and other important letters.
Lead and schedule monthly meetings with project teams to assess the field and plan projects, and give them advice on how to carry out effective budget and finance measures.
Get and check the project's voucher interface files, GEMs, and Provision requests to make sure the data and account codes are correct and accurate. Give comments every day.
Take care of petty cash funds, make sure they are checked for accuracy, and handle petty cash and bank vouchers.
Respond to all comments on the field report finance review, including giving feedback on missing vouchers and information that is still needed after reviewing the payment documents.
Help make monthly cash forecasts that the West Nile regional office can use with the consent of the Response Finance Manager. This includes confirmations of wire transfers every two weeks.
Check Mobile Money and Vendor payments to see if they are allowed, acceptable, and reasonable.
Help with regular audits of project inventory, assets, and storage according to WVU regulations, and give management a report on assets and equipment every three months so they may take action.
Make regular reports on progress and let the Project Manager and Program Manager know how things are doing in relation to the agreed-upon project workplan and key indicators.
Send the project donor quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly program financial reports, follow up, and keep in touch with them.
Other accounting, financial, and administrative activities that are in line with the general scope of this job.
Do any other tasks that the supervisor or the Program Manager gives you.

Education, Qualifications and Skills

A degree in business administration or commerce with a focus on finance and accounting, or being a certified public accountant (CPA), an associate of the chartered institute of certified accountants (ACCA), or something similar.

Experience managing financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and yearly), vendor payments, mobile money payments, and budgets.
Experience managing projects for a group of people and working on initiatives that were sponsored by donors in both emergency and development situations.
At least three years of experience managing money and grants in an INGO.
Having experience managing a consortium project will be a plus.
At least three years of professional accounting experience, preferably with an NGO.
You need to know a lot about computers, including MS Word, MS Excel, Vision, PowerPoint, the SUN accounting system, and Access.
Must have a proven understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control procedures.
A history of being honest, creative, reliable, and dependable.
Self-driven, proactive, and very motivated.
Ability to express and model our Christian identity and mission in a way that includes everyone, as well as spiritual development, understanding of other faiths, and a biblical worldview.
Showing that you have good interpersonal skills and can communicate well in both speech and writing.
