• Be in charge of projects that promote a culture of innovation at the Bank
• Use new technologies like AI Big Data and machine learning to come up with new banking products and services
• Find areas where present procedures and systems aren't working well and come up with ways to automate them to make operations more efficient and save money
• Work with other departments such IT operations and customer support to make sure that new solutions work well with each other
• Work with fintech companies and tech providers to use their outside innovation skills
• Make sure that new ideas follow the rules set by the government and the company's own risk management standards
• Look at the hazards that come with new technology and automation processes and try to lower them
• Be in charge of change management to make sure that everyone in the company uses new technologies and processes successfully
• Teach and train employees about the advantages and uses of new technologies and automation tools
• Set up key performance indicators (KPIs) to see how well innovation and automation projects are doing and what effect they have
• Improve the overall customer experience by making consumer-facing processes and digital channels better
• Help the business and strategy departments by giving them new banking products and services that fit the changing demands and wants of customers
• Work with fintech startups and tech vendors to offer customer experience solutions that are faster than the competition
• Give all parts of the bank (client-facing digital strategy back-end operations risk management and regulatory reporting) a great place to come up with new ideas and automate processes
• Stay up to date on technology innovations that can help the Bank with reliable useful and affordable business apps and procedures
• Take part in the software development process by making prototypes of new application requirements and coming up with new business models
• Write up system documentation to help users with programs and with how to run the production system
• A good understanding of digital banking services
• In charge of creating new Business Technology tools and automations while keeping costs down
• Follow the bank's AML/CFT/CPF rules and procedures If you don't you will be dealt with according to the bank's disciplinary procedures
• Any additional job that you are given from time to time

• A bachelor's degree in computer science information technology or a similar discipline
• A master's degree or appropriate certifications like PMP Agile or Scrum is a bonus
• Experience
• 5 years of experience in ICT Innovations and/or Business Automation 3 of which should be at a supervisory level
• A history of coming up with new ideas that help the business
• The ability to motivate and persuade stakeholders
• Experience leading ICT innovations digital transformation and business automation projects in the banking or financial services industry that are relevant
• Able to write product papers and business cases
• Knowledge of Uganda's regulated financial services business
• A lot of knowledge and experience with digital banking services
• A good grasp of how banks work and what they do
• Ability to make sure that new ideas fit with the bank's business plan
• The ability to find ways to use technology to gain a competitive edge
