Relief Line Emergency Road Suppliers a firm that builds roads and does emergency road work is looking for a Civil Project Engineer with a lot of experience and expertise.
This important job includes overseeing a number of civil engineering projects from the design stage to the final implementation The engineer will make sure that projects are finished on schedule within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards.
This job needs a leader who can get things done keep prices down coordinate teams and resources and keep good connections with clients It is a great chance for a trained engineer to work on important infrastructure projects that improve transportation and connectivity
Main Duties
Plan and carry out projects: Be in charge of the design planning and execution of road building and maintenance projects Make project specifications technical drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
Project Management: Make clear plans for the project set deadlines for tasks and use resources wisely Check on the progress of the project and make changes as needed to stay on schedule
Cost Management: Make and keep track of project budgets keep an eye on costs and find ways to save money without sacrificing quality or safety
Team Coordination: On site you are in charge of site engineers technicians contractors and workers
Quality Assurance and Surveying: Make sure that every work satisfies engineering standards specifications and regulatory requirements by overseeing the work of quality surveyors Do surveys and inspections of the location
Managing client relationships: Be the main technical contact for clients Keep clients happy throughout the project by giving them regular updates answering their questions and addressing their concerns
Health and Safety: Make sure that all project locations follow health safety and environmental rules very closely
Academic Requirements
Requirement
A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field such construction engineering from a university that is well-known
It is very important to be registered with the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE)
Skills and Experience
At least three years of direct experience as a Project Engineer primarily on civil infrastructure or road development projects
Strong technical design skills and a track record of quality surveys
Good at using engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Project as well as MS Office
Great at managing projects solving problems and making decisions
Strong leadership and people skills to manage teams and talk to clients in a professional way
A lot of information about the rules procedures and materials used in construction in Uganda
