Summary of the Job:

The CNC Operator will run and oversee advanced CNC machines that process steel, such as those that notch and brand names.

To make sure that manufacturing runs well and that the steel products satisfy industry standards, this technical job requires knowledge of setting up machines, quality control, and maintenance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use CNC tools to notch and brand names on steel of all sizes
• Machine roll passes for roughing rolls based on the design parameters for the pass
• Make and save spare mechanical parts for manufacturing equipment
• Follow all health and safety rules and regulations
• Machine roll passes for all continuous stand rolls according to design specifications
• Follow safety rules for handling tools and materials at work.
• Set up CNC machines by choosing tools and entering parameters.
• Make sure that steel materials are lined up correctly for production runs
• Use precise measuring tools to do frequent quality checks
• Find and fix any problems or faults in final parts
• Do regular maintenance on machines, such as cleaning and oiling them
• Figure out what's wrong with a machine and report it if it needs serious repairs
• Keep an eye on the status of production and let supervising know about any changes.
• Fix machines that aren't working right and solve problems with operations.
• Keep up with quality and efficiency standards in manufacturing
• Keep records of production data and quality control results
• Work with maintenance teams to service equipment

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
• 4 to 5 years of experience as a CNC operator in the steel manufacturing business
• A lot of familiarity with how CNC machines work in manufacturing
• The ability to fix problems with machines and operations
• Ability to work with heavy materials in tough situations
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Knowing how to read technical drawings and specs
• Knowledge of quality control and how to use precision measurement tools
• Knowledge of how steel is made and the rules that govern it
• The ability to work in a demanding industrial setting
• The practicality to pay attention to details and focus on quality
• The ability to operate machines
• The ability to follow safety rules and be aware of safety issues
• The capacity to work in rotating shifts if needed

Requirements for Technology:

• Experience with setting up and programming CNC machines
• Knowledge of how to design and implement roll passes
• Understanding of steel characteristics and processing
• Familiarity with safety regulations in the workplace
• Proficiency in how to maintain machines
• Ability to understand technical specifications
