Job Summary:

The Treatment Plant Controller will help the Quality & Operations Department by independently overseeing the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the effluent treatment facility/plant (Aerobic and anaerobic) and its processes to make sure that the waste water meets all legal requirements. He or she will be in charge of running all ETP Operations and the team.

Main Tasks and Duties:

  • Carry out all allocated independent maintenance on equipment and the workplace
  • Keep the work environment clean at all times
  • Follow and promote food safety and quality rules
  • Put occupational health and safety and environmental requirements first.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the effluent treatment plant and make sure that all the necessary inventory items are available. Also, oversee all activities, including sampling and testing.
  • Strategy, create, and carry out a strategy for preventative maintenance.
  • Find and fix problems with operations.
  • Give ETP staff technical knowledge and training.
  • Set quality standards and keep an eye on ETP activities.
  • Set up yearly tests to check people's skills
  • Keep equipment and instruments in good shape and test them from time to time. Also, create, change, check, and confirm methods.
  • Do an examination of the test results and their meaning.
  • Take care of the testing facilities and the weather.
  • Lead the coordination of on-site audits by outside auditors.
  • Stay up to date on laws about quality and the environment.
  • Regularly checking for risks associated to fairness
  • Every day, tell Management how well ETP is doing.
  • Start an investigation when outcomes don't match what was expected

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in an area connected to the environment, chemistry, chemical engineering, or something similar
  • At least six years of experience working with ETPs (aerobic and anaerobic)
  • A lot of understanding of laboratory tests, reagents, and calibrating equipment
  • Knowledgeable about ETP's core operations and analytical procedures
  • Good at both speaking and writing
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to write reports
  • Food safety and hygiene training
  • Ability to work alone and finish tasks
  • Basic knowledge on how to set up a management system
  • Training in ISO 17025, food safety, and hygiene
