Job Summary

Microhaem Scientifics and Medical Supplies Limited a top manufacturer and supplier in Uganda's medical field is looking for a strategic Communication Specialist. This job is based in Kampala and requires coming up with and carrying out a whole communication plan to improve the company's image and make sure that messages are always the same

The specialist will be in charge of making content dealing with the media helping with executive communications and overseeing branding activities both inside and outside the company.

This is a high-level position that is great for someone who is creative strategic and has a lot of experience in corporate communications

Roles & Responsibilities / Main Duties

Create and carry out a yearly communications strategy and plan that works together
Be the main person who writes content such as press releases website content marketing materials and executive presentations
Handle contacts with news organizations and PR firms set up press conferences and interviews
Manage the company's online presence which includes social media accounts and its reputation online
Help the Managing Director and sales staff with communication needs for important meetings
Be in charge of making advertising materials including video documentaries and success tales
Protect the brand by making sure that all communication is in line with the company's values and visual identity
Be in charge of a small group of people such as a graphics designer and a social media expert

Academic Qualifications

Position	Qualification
Communication Specialist	A Master's degree in Journalism Mass Communication Marketing or a comparable discipline from a university

Skills and Experience

You need at least five years of relevant experience in corporate communication media relations or public relations
A good portfolio that shows you can write edit and create material well
Having worked in a scientific manufacturing or healthcare setting is a big plus
Being able to use digital communication tools and platforms well
Good at leading making plans and working with stakeholders
