Job Summary

Microhaem Scientifics is looking for a Senior Procurement & Purchasing Officer to lead and manage the company's procurement and logistics activities.This job which is headquartered in Kampala is in charge of making sure that goods and services are bought on time and at a reasonable cost all while following business rules.

The officer will be in charge of a team talk to vendors manage contracts and make process improvements to get the most value for the company This job is very important for helping the organization run smoothly and efficiently

Roles & Responsibilities / Main Duties

Make sure that all purchase orders are delivered on time by leading the procurement staff
Use good negotiation and market research to come up with and put into action ways to save money
Take care of the vendor portfolio which includes performance reviews and rationalization
Write review and manage procurement contracts to make sure they follow the law and the rules
Help people inside the company understand how to utilize the ERP system and how to buy things
Be in charge of the training and growth of the procurement team
Work with both internal and external auditors to make sure that all procurement documents are ready for an audit
Find and put into action ongoing improvement projects in the supply chain function

Academic Qualifications

Position	Qualification
Senior Procurement & Purchasing Officer	A Master's degree in a related discipline such Business Administration or Supply Chain It is very important to get a professional certification in Supply Chain Management like CIPS

Skills and Expertise

4 to 7 years of expertise in procurement and supply chain management preferably in a business or manufacturing setting
Have a track record of leading and managing teams
Good in negotiating analyzing and handling money
Knowledge of how to use ERP systems for purchasing and advanced MS Excel skills
Knowing how multinational supply chains work is a plus
