Program Background

The Next Creata Program is the flagship initiative under the Uganda Creatives Program, in partnership with Bayimba Foundation, ITC, and Mastercard Foundation.

It aims to skill, employ, and financially include 40,000 young women through hands-on media training, digital upskilling, market linkage, and entrepreneurship.

Role Overview

Master Trainers deliver hands-on, project-based media training to young women, ensuring they graduate with real production skills, professional discipline, and portfolio-ready work that leads to paid opportunities.

This is not theory. This is on-the-job training led by practicing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver structured, hands-on sessions using approved curriculum
Teach via real workflows, tools, deadlines, briefs, and team projects
Lead production of short films, shows, radio segments, graphic packs
Guide trainees through pre-production, production, and post-production
Ensure each trainee completes at least one polished portfolio project
Instill workplace discipline, on-set behavior, client communication, and collaboration
Provide regular 1:1 mentoring and performance check-ins
Track attendance, skill progress, and identify top talent for placements
Create a safe, respectful, gender-inclusive training environment
Report weekly to Curriculum & Training Manager

1. Master Trainer – TV Production

Skills: Studio/field camera, lighting, multi-cam, live studio, presenter coaching

Tools: Canon/Sony, Blackmagic ATEM, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve

2. Master Trainer – Podcasting & Radio Production

Skills: Live/taped shows, audio scripting, mic technique, sound design, hosting

Tools: Adobe Audition, Reaper, Rode mics, Zoom H-series

3. Master Trainer – Motion Graphics & Broadcast Design

Skills: Lower thirds, transitions, show branding, animation workflows

Tools: After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender (+)

4. Master Trainer – Post-Production (Editing & Sound)

Skills: Multi-layer editing, color grading, sound mixing, pacing, export formats

Tools: Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Audition, DaVinci Resolve

5. Master Trainer – Digital Distribution & Audience Growth

Skills: Platform packaging, analytics, content strategy, growth campaigns

Tools: YouTube Studio, TikTok Analytics, Canva/CapCut, Meta Business Suite

Qualifications & Expectations

Portfolio proof of expertise in one of the five specializations
Experience training, supervising, or mentoring junior creators or media students
Strong collaborative creative skills
No degree required — skills and portfolio matter most
