Job Summary

The Credit Officer works in the field and is in charge of the microfinance institution's main lending activity. The officer will be in charge of the whole loan process, from getting clients to apply for loans to evaluating, giving out, and collecting payments Keeping a high-quality loan portfolio and teaching clients about money management are two important parts of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Actively look for clients for both group and individual loans
• Do complete loan evaluations, oversee the distribution of funds, and carry out the collection of loan payments
• Keep a close eye on how the loan portfolio is doing to make sure it stays high quality and low risk
• Make sure that all clients have accurate and up-to-date records and credit reports on a regular basis
• Teach clients about financial literacy and why it's important to create a culture of saving

Skills and Qualifications

Abilities: 
Good at working with people and helping customers 
Good at analyzing loans for approval 
Ability to work alone and reach goals
