Role Overview

Title: Accountant – Projects 
Reports to: Manager – Finance (Capital Investments) 
Main Purpose: Manage CAPEX budget tracking, IFRS 16 lease accounting, project cost control, and accurate asset capitalization.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the IFRS 16 lease solution (add/modify/remove leases)
• Post monthly lease journals and reconcile GL accounts
• Coordinate with Legal, Tech & Facilities on lease contracts
• Monitor CAPEX budget vs actuals and advise project teams
• Ensure completed projects are correctly capitalized and CWIP cleared
• Produce monthly CWIP aging reports
• Support internal/external audits on leases and CWIP
• Assist with PPE & lease budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare financial statement disclosures

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics or related
• CPA or ACCA (completed or in progress) – mandatory

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years in financial accounting
• Experience with IFRS 16 and project accounting highly preferred
• Strong ERP skills (Oracle, MRI) and advanced Excel
