The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is looking for an External Relations Assistant in Kampala to work as a UN National Volunteer UNHCR is working to improve its proactive fundraising for the Uganda operation which is the largest refugee response in Africa This role is part of that endeavor

The volunteer will help the External Relations unit by planning donor missions making materials for fundraising keeping track of donor gifts and writing reports This is a one-of-a-kind chance to get real-world experience in humanitarian fundraising and donor relations at the world's largest refugee agency where you may directly help over 1.9 million refugees

• Donor Relations: Help set up donor field missions and meetings
• Proposal Development: Help write concept notes and grant proposals that meet the needs of donors
• Reporting: Help gather data and write reports for contributors about how their money was spent and what difference it made
• Monitoring: Help keep an eye on initiatives that donors have paid for to make sure they follow the rules
• Study: Gather and change fundraising materials based on in-depth study and analysis
• Communication: Work with different units to get the right information for reporting and communicating with those outside of the company

• You need to be able to speak and write English very well
• Good in writing making plans and reporting
• Know how to use Microsoft Office programs like Word Excel and others
• Making and modifying documents with accuracy and professionalism
• Good at working with people from different cultures and getting along with them
• Able to work with little supervision and under short deadlines
• Having worked in a similar job before is a plus but it's not required
