Job Summary
The Field Sales Professional East Africa will strategically identify business growth opportunities, drive sales to increase gross and net revenue, and manage a portfolio of existing customers to grow their share of wallet. Based in Kampala, the role focuses on building client relationships and maintaining a robust sales pipeline to meet or exceed targets.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Establish relationships with new prospects and secure contracts, managing the entire sales cycle from engagement to closing
- Prospect for customers using direct methods (calling, face-to-face meetings) and indirect methods (networking)
- Provide sales forecasts for best-case and most likely volumes over relevant periods
- Deliver sales presentations, submit opportunities, and provide activity and results reports to leadership
- Develop and maintain functional knowledge of CEVA’s products, services, and operations
- Collaborate with station and operations managers to meet customer needs
- Schedule and conduct a predetermined number of face-to-face sales visits as directed
- Input sales call data into Cview or designated sales software and provide daily sales reports
- Maintain a set number of target accounts, actively managing progress toward closing
- Meet or exceed sales quotas as defined by the company
- Work cooperatively with sales and operational staff in a team-selling environment
- Ensure overdue accounts are settled and follow up to enforce credit terms
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, Transport and Logistics Management, or a related field
- Post-graduate diploma in Marketing or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in logistics operations or related fields
- Experience in the aid and relief sector with a strong network in Aid & Relief projects
- Membership in a recognized professional body or institute is an advantage
- Key Skills:- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management concepts
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a target-driven environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- High proficiency in computer applications
- High integrity, self-driven, and able to meet rigorous deadlines
