Job Summary

Akiba Expeditions Africa is looking for a driven junior professional to fill the position of Founder's Associate. 

This one-of-a-kind job lets you work directly with the creator of two booming firms in the tourist and hospitality industries.

 The job includes administration, finance, and project execution, which gives you hands-on experience with running a firm and starting a new one.

Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities

Support for Executives and Administrators

  • Set up meetings, communications, and schedules for the Founder
  • Write reports, letters, and presentation materials
  • Handle communication with both within and outside parties in a professional and private way
  • Represent the company at industry events and with stakeholders

Finance & Operations

  • Help with bookkeeping, tracking payments, and reconciling finances
  • Help make company policies and procedures better
  • Help with hiring, placing, and training new employees
  • Help make administrative and accounting systems better across all ventures

Planning Projects and Getting Them Off the Ground

  • Help with the research, planning, and execution of new business ventures
  • Help with the development of the brand and the upkeep of digital platforms
  • Create and keep track of project milestones, budgets, and deadlines
  • Look into potential suppliers, partners, and market prospects

Business and Hospitality Oversight

  • Talk to team leaders at Mojjo Restaurant about how well things are doing
  • Help with quality control, compliance, and reporting
  • Help with marketing, customer service, and planning events

Education, Skills, and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in administration, finance, or project coordination
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with cloud accounting, project management, CRM, or ATS systems
  • Fluent in English (German, Swahili, or other languages are a plus)
  • An entrepreneurial mindset means being proactive, flexible, and open to learn
