Purpose

Formulate and manage resource mobilization efforts to support NIMD’s programs aligning with strategic goals in Kampala Uganda

Main Duties
  • Create and execute a fundraising strategy aligned with NIMD’s strategic objectives
  • Draft project proposals meeting donor specifications and organizational priorities
  • Track submitted proposals and maintain detailed records of all donor communications
  • Prepare and submit project and accountability reports adhering to donor standards
  • Establish and sustain an endowment fund to enhance organizational resources following fundraising guidelines
  • Build and update a database for resource mobilization activities supporting NIMD’s goals in Kampala Uganda
Minimum Qualifications
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Finance Business Administration Social Sciences or Development Studies
Professional accounting certification such as CPA or ACCA is a plus for this Grants Officer role in Kampala Uganda
Key Skills Knowledge and Traits
  • Excellent communication skills with expertise in grant writing financial reporting and budget oversight
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in grants management software and MS Office tools including Excel Word and Outlook
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks
  • Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities
  • Knowledge of funding regulations and donor relations is advantageous for this Grants Officer role in Kampala Uganda
Key Competencies
  • Formulate fundraising strategies
  • Identify strategic fundraising initiatives for specific periods
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising activities
  • Prepare reports on fundraising efforts
  • Draft and submit fundraising reports
  • Create concept papers aligned with donor expectations
  • Develop and submit project proposals
  • Follow up with donors post-submission
  • Document and report donor feedback to management
  • Maintain records of all donor correspondences
  • Analyze donor information needs
  • Produce donor reports meeting their requirements
  • Address donor information requests effectively
  • Establish and manage an endowment fund per governing principles
  • Assess resource needs for the endowment fund
  • Create a resource mobilization plan
  • Design a database for resource mobilization
  • Enter relevant data into the database
  • Collect data aligned with resource mobilization needs for NIMD’s programs in Kampala Uganda
