Job Summary

MADFA SACCO is looking for a Head of Credit who is both dynamic and strategic to join its senior management team. This important position is in charge of giving the complete credit department strategic direction and control.

This includes administration, risk management, product innovation, and portfolio performance. You will make sure that the SACCO's loan activities are profitable, long-lasting, and follow all the rules set by the government.

Main Duties

Lead the Credit, Portfolio, and Recovery divisions in a strategic way.
Make strong credit risk management frameworks and policies that follow BoU rules and put them into action.
Keep an eye on the whole loan portfolio to make sure it is doing well and that the assets are of high quality.
Be in charge of coming up with new credit products and ways to distribute them.
Use data analysis to help you make judgments about credit policy and strategy.
Oversee, mentor, and evaluate branch managers and credit team staff on credit-related tasks.
Oversee the entire credit process, from starting it to getting it approved to getting it back.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualification
A bachelor's degree in business, commerce, finance, or a similar profession.
At least 8 years of experience in microfinance, retail, or commercial banking.
At least 3 years in a senior management position that involved credit administration, risk management, or product management.
Having a master's degree and a lot of experience in a similar Head of Credit function is a big plus.
A deep understanding of the rules that the Bank of Uganda follows.
Good in planning, running a business, and being a leader.
Great talents in dealing with people, talking to them, and getting them involved at work.
