Job Summary:
The Human Resource Officer will make sure that all HR operations for employees are done in a way that is in line with corporate policies, procedures, and local labor laws.
The person in this job will be in charge of all immigration-related tasks for non-citizen employees.
They will also be in charge of making sure that all legal requirements are met during the hiring process and while verifying education.
The individual in this role will be fully responsible for keeping and arranging personal staff records, making sure that all employee documents are filed correctly and stored safely.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help with the processes of hiring, firing, moving personnel, managing leave, administering insurance, and getting work visas
- Write and send out any HR-related letters and documents
- Help with timely payroll processing and following the law; keep employees' information and HR records up to date in the HRMIS; manage compliance and provide relevant information for HR audits; start the personnel vetting process according to departmental regulations;
- Oversee the medical plan for Cairo Bank Uganda, which includes registering people and processing claims.
- Keep private HR documents and keep an eye on employee files.
- Every week, file papers and every month, refresh the filing cabinets for workers.
- Help with processing staff benefits according to HR policy
- Send stakeholders a summary of the weekly attendance reports.
- Keep and send in accurate monthly reports on leave status
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related discipline
- A postgraduate diploma or master's degree in human resource management (a plus)
- A professional human resource certification (a plus)
- At least two years of experience in human resource management and knowledge of Uganda's and international labor laws
