Job Summary:

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) is looking for a Learning and Adaptation Specialist to lead its efforts in Uganda to promote continuous learning, evidence-based decision-making, and adaptive management in all of its projects and national offices.

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) is a worldwide group that works to make life better for individuals with disabilities in the poorest areas of the world. 

Since 1908, CBM has been changing lives through inclusive development by providing health, education, and economic opportunities and fighting for the rights of people with disabilities in more than 30 countries.

Responsibilities, Duties, and Roles

  • Help people learn and adapt by using reflective practices and sharing knowledge
  • Find ways to get data to decision-makers quickly and easily
  • Give staff and partners more skills through tools, workshops, and processes
  • Lead cross-country learning through sessions, forums, and peer exchanges
  • Create and manage knowledge products and digital tools, including AI platforms
  • Turn technical learning into clear stories and improve storytelling skills
  • Lead the Learning Agenda by figuring out what is most important and writing down what you find.
  • Help in managing change and make sure that learning is a part of fundraising activities.
  • Make metrics to measure how learning affects decision-making.
  • Speak for CBM at meetings, conferences, and via partner networks.
  • Go to country offices every now and then to help and get involved.

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

  • A master's degree in a discipline linked to communications, organizational learning, international development, or something similar
  • Proven experience with data-driven learning and strategic communications
  • Experience organizing learning events in person, online, and in a mix of both
  • Ability to create knowledge goods and communication materials
  • Experience in building capacity through training and coaching
  • Strong talents in organizing, managing projects, and leading groups
  • Knowledge of digital platforms and knowledge management systems
  • Able to work independently and quickly, and good at working with others
  • Fluency in English (French desirable) for work
  • Identification with CBM's mission and Christian values
