Open Positions (8 Roles)
1. Manager of Procurement
Goal: Lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost reduction for raw materials, capital equipment, and services.
- Develop long-term supplier contracts and category strategies
- Achieve 10–15% annual cost savings via TCO analysis
- Manage customs (URA), INCOTERMS, and import procurement
- Lead digital procurement transformation (ERP, e-tendering)
- Ensure ESG compliance and ethical sourcing
Requirements: Bachelor’s in procurement/supply chain/engineering, CIPS Level 5/6, 7+ years in manufacturing procurement, budget > UGX 5B/year.
2. IT/Digital Workspace Remote Work Tools Specialist
Purpose: Build and manage secure remote collaboration solutions for hybrid teams across Mulwana Group.
- Implement and maintain Microsoft 365, Zoom, Slack, VPN, MDM
- Train staff on digital tools and cybersecurity
- Monitor usage, optimize licenses, reduce costs
- Support virtual meetings, file sharing, workflow automation
Requirements: Degree in IT/CS, 3+ years in digital workplace tools, Microsoft 365 & CompTIA Security+ certified, Zero Trust & cloud security experience.
3. Marketing Executive (Digital & Trade)
Goal: Drive UBL battery sales and brand visibility through digital marketing and trade engagement.
- Manage Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, SEO
- Execute trade marketing (POS, dealer incentives)
- Launch campaigns for solar & automotive batteries
- Analyze ROI and customer feedback
Requirements: Bachelor’s in marketing/comms, 3+ years digital marketing, Canva, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, B2B dealer experience.
4. Plant and Equipment Maintenance Manager
Purpose: Ensure 99.5% uptime of battery assembly, injection molding, and acid-filling lines.
- Lead team of mechanical & electrical technicians
- Use CMMS (UpKeep/SAP PM)
- Plan shutdowns, manage spare parts, liaise with OEMs
- Drive TPM and 5S culture
Requirements: B.Sc. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, 8+ years industrial maintenance, battery/chemical plant experience a plus, PLC/SCADA/hydraulics expertise.
5. HR Business Partner (HRBP)
Goal: Align HR strategy with UBL and Jesa Farm Dairy business objectives in talent, performance, and culture.
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning
- Lead performance management & succession planning
- Manage employee relations, grievances, compliance
- Drive learning & development programs
Requirements: Bachelor’s in HR/business/psychology, 5+ years as HRBP in manufacturing/FMCG, HRMAU membership a plus, strong Uganda Labour Laws knowledge.
6. Manager of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)
Goal: Achieve zero accidents and full compliance with NEMA, OSHA, ISO 14001/45001 in chemical plant.
- Lead safety audits, risk assessments, emergency drills
- Manage sulfuric acid and lead handling
- Implement waste recycling & effluent treatment
- Train 200+ staff on PPE, HAZOP, LOTO
Requirements: B.Sc. Environmental Science/Chemical Engineering/Safety, NEBOSH IGC or DOSH, 5+ years EHS in manufacturing, lead-acid battery experience a plus.
7. B2B Sales Officer (Battery Distribution)
Goal: Grow automotive & solar battery sales to institutions and dealers in Uganda & East Africa.
- Acquire & manage fleet operators, solar installers, dealers
- Achieve 500+ batteries/month sales targets
- Deliver product demos & technical training
- Prepare tenders and quotations
Requirements: Diploma/Bachelor’s in sales/marketing/engineering, 3+ years B2B technical sales, Class B license, existing auto/solar network.
8. Electrical Technician (Battery Assembly Line)
Goal: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in formation, charging, and testing areas.
- Manage control panels, chargers, rectifiers, inverters
- Perform preventive maintenance on 480V systems
- Read schematics, use oscilloscopes/multimeters
- Support automation upgrades
Requirements: Diploma in electrical engineering, 2+ years industrial electrical maintenance, AC/DC & motor control knowledge, wireman’s license a plus.
