Operational Risk Officer - FINCA Uganda

Job Description

FINCA Uganda is looking for an Operational Risk Officer to enhance its risk management system. This role is ideal for candidates with over three years of banking experience who are passionate about mitigating risks.

About the Role

As an Operational Risk Officer, you will ensure FINCA Uganda's operations comply with risk policies, regulations, and best practices. You will assess risks, conduct audits, and implement controls to safeguard the bank's financial stability.

Main Duties

Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify operational risks and advocate for solutions.
Business Continuity Management: Plan and test disaster recovery and ensure updated backup plans.
Incident Investigation: Investigate operational incidents, document resolutions, and prevent recurrence.
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to Bank of Uganda (BOU) regulations and internal policies.
Risk Awareness Training: Educate staff on best practices for risk management.

Qualifications & Experience

Requirement	Details
Education	Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Experience	3+ years in banking, with at least 1 year in operations or risk management.
Certifications	Risk certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or Master's) is a plus.
Knowledge	Strong understanding of Basel standards and regulatory requirements.
