The Radiographer will do X-ray tests on people who are eligible in certain towns and hospitals within the Activity's geographical coverage areas The radiographer will work closely with clinical teams and community outreach workers to offer more radiography services
Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities
Services for X-ray Imaging
Give the TB screening kit according to the most recent advice from the Ministry of Health
Get those who are eligible ready for X-rays by explaining the process, placing them, and answering any questions they may have
Perform X-ray procedures on eligible people, making sure that the X-ray images are of excellent quality and that the right exposure techniques are used to help with clinical diagnosis
Talk to the healthcare staff, patients, and communities about the details of the AI platform
Working Together and Making Plans
Work collaboratively with clinical, laboratory, and community teams to plan and provide high-quality radiography services to specific people and communities in a timely manner
Work with clinical teams to make sure that radiographs are read quickly and that results are recorded correctly
Support troubleshooting activities ahead of time to make sure that X-ray services are not interrupted as little as possible
Safety and Maintenance
Make sure that all X-ray machines are in good working order, calibrated, and maintained
Follow radiation safety rules to keep patients, workers, and yourself from getting too much radiation
Follow tight infection control rules that are in line with TB preventive guidelines
Make sure that the property that the Ministry of Health and the project have given you is safe at the station and in the field
Managing and Reporting Data
Make sure LabXpert is used and feedback is given on time for things that don't work
Help make sure that data from the mobile apps used for data collecting is sent to the main server on time
In the project's data management system, make sure to appropriately record and save digital photographs
Help gather and organize radiological data so that it may be reported to project management and other important people
Do a good job of entering data on a number of technological platforms
Give regular reports on how many X-rays were done, what diagnoses were made, and any problems with the equipment
Work with the project MEL team to keep an eye on X-ray screening cascades in accordance with the most recent national criteria
Training and Building Skills
As needed, give healthcare personnel on-the-job training on how to use digital and portable X-ray machines
Help create and spread the word about the latest TB screening algorithms, methods, and procedures for employing radiography services in both outreach and facility-based settings
Do basic quality checks on X-ray services
Getting Involved in the Community
Help raise awareness in the community by telling patients and community members how X-ray services can help find TB
Make sure that X-ray services work well with other community outreach programs, like TB screening, counseling, referrals, and follow-up

Education
A diploma or bachelor's degree in medical imaging or radiography
Experience
Registered with the Allied Professionals Council and has worked in radiography for three years
Skills
Ability to use AI platforms A good awareness of radiation safety, infection control, and image quality Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well with patients, community leaders, and healthcare providers Knowing how to enter data electronically and use simple online apps
A good work ethic, the ability to work effectively with others, and a desire to learn new abilities Willingness to travel around the Kampala Metropolitan area and upcountry
