Job Summary:
We need a Safety Officer with a lot of experience in occupational safety, PPE management, and the tender application process to head and set up our Safety Unit department.
This job gives the right person a chance to work toward the company's goals and play a key part in our success.
The best candidate will help set up and run the safety unit, buy and distribute PPE, make sure the company follows all the rules, and take part in public and private sector tenders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and run the safety unit department in line with company goals
- Create and put into action the safety department's policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
- Oversee the buying, storing, and distribution of PPE and safety equipment
- Find and keep track of relevant PPE and safety tender opportunities in both the public and private sectors
- Create and lead training sessions for staff and clients on how to use PPE and follow workplace safety rules
- Build and keep strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Do market research to find out about trends, what competitors are doing, and what customers need
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with clients to close deals successfully
Qualifications and Work History:
- Proven experience managing safety operations, such as getting, distributing, and making sure PPE is used correctly
- Strong knowledge of PPE standards and safety rules
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to run a department
- Great communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to negotiate and conclude deals;
- Ability to look at market trends and come up with good sales plans
