Localworks is Uganda's first design-and-build cooperative that focuses only on making green, eco-friendly, and healthy architecture. Responsibility | Description |

Site Management | Make sure that all daily construction activities follow design specifications, safety rules, and project timeframes. |
Technical Interpretation | Check and interpret technical drawings, plans, and contract documents to make sure they are correct and fix any mistakes. |
Stakeholder Coordination | Act as the main technical link between Project Managers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to make sure everything runs smoothly. |
Quality Assurance & Control | Lead site inspections, quality checks, and make sure all materials and work meet project specifications and TQM principles. Before work starts, make sure all material testing are okay. |
Programme Monitoring | Keep an eye on the construction schedule, check on progress, and let the Site Manager know right away about any updates, changes, or delays. |
Design Management | Keep track of and document any changes to the design, making sure that all relevant parties are informed. |
Team Leadership | Help junior engineers and site supervisors with technical problems and give them direction and mentorship. |
Health & Safety | Be a strong advocate for and strictly enforce health and safety standards to make sure that everyone who works or visits the site is safe. |
Planning & Resource Allocation | Help the Site Manager plan projects, set schedules, and use resources efficiently. |
Risk Management | Find potential risks and delays ahead of time and come up with good ways to deal with them. |

Education | A degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a similar discipline from a recognized university. |
Experience | At least ten years of experience as a Site Engineer and Site Manager on big construction projects. |
Track Record | A history of successfully running complicated site operations with a strong focus on safety and quality. |
Technical Knowledge | A deep understanding of building codes, standards, processes, and materials. |
Technical Skills | The ability to read and understand complicated engineering drawings and technical papers. |
Leadership | Great talents in leading, communicating, and managing a team. |
Problem Solving | Good at making decisions and solving problems. |
Certification | Having a Health and Safety certification is a big plus. |
Software Proficiency | Knowledge of tools like AutoCAD and MS Project. |
Regulatory Knowledge | Understanding of health, safety, and environmental rules that apply. |
Sustainability | It is very important to have a love for or experience in sustainable/green building practices. |
