Summary of the Job

Rikolto International a non-governmental organization (NGO) with more than 50 years of experience in establishing sustainable food systems is hiring four people in Uganda to help with its "Climate-Resilient Businesses for Wetland Adjacent Communities" initiative.

 There are a Business Advisor for Aquaculture a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer a Management Intern and a Project Driver.

 These jobs are in Eastern Uganda (save for the intern job in Kampala) and they provide you a chance to work on a new initiative financed by aBi Development the Royal Danish Embassy and the European Union that aims to make communities more resilient and help people earn more money in a way that lasts

Roles and Responsibilities / Main Duties

• Business Advisor - Aquaculture: Help aquaculture entrepreneurs and farmer organizations get to markets and money by giving them technical guidance and helping them grow their businesses
• MEL Officer: Lead the creation and execution of the project's M&E framework keep an eye on progress assess impact and plan learning activities to help shape project strategy
• Management Intern: Help the Global Support Team in Kampala with tasks related to administration communication and programs This is a great chance to learn about international development
• Project Driver: Make sure that staff and project equipment are transported safely and on time keep the project vehicle in good shape and help with logistics for field operations

Qualifications for School

Experience and Skills

• Having experience in the right field (for example the Advisor should have experience in agribusiness and the MEL Officer should have experience with M&E systems)
• For field employment it is really helpful to have worked in Eastern Uganda before and to know how things work there
• The advisor and MEL roles need to have good communication people skills and reporting skills
• For the driver: defensive driving skills a clean driving record and experience helping with NGO projects
