Job Description

Job Title: Accountant

Organisation: Xclusive Uganda

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Salary Range: Gross pay UGX 2,500,000/= – UGX 3,000,000/=

Job Summary: To ensure accurate and timely recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all financial transactions in order to provide a true reflection of the company’s financial position.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage creditors and debtors, allocate petty cash, prepare reports, and process supplier payments accurately and on time.
  • Accurately record all financial transactions in the correct accounts to reflect the company’s true financial position.
  • Allocate production costs per agreed ratios and perform monthly transaction closings to ensure timely and balanced intercompany ledgers.
  • Maintain up-to-date, reconciled accounting ledgers and cash books, including closing forex differences.
  • Ensure timely compliance with statutory filings, VAT refunds, customs procedures, and external audits.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • A Master/bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, Business Administration, Economics & Commerce.
  • A professional course of CPA Level III is an added advantage.
  • A minimum experience of 6-10 years working in a corporate setting and in handling URA taxes.
  • Strong computer skills, inclusive of knowledge of accounting software.
  • Paying attention to details, and good analyst.
  • Knowledge of quick books.
