Job Summary
The Business Development Supervisor will play a critical role in identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships with consumers, stakeholders, and business partners to drive product development, sales, and brand visibility. The role involves implementing effective business development plans to expand the Bank’s reach and enhance its reputation.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
Market Research and Brand Promotion
- Conduct market research and promote Yako Bank’s products and services to increase brand awareness and adoption
- Monitor departmental expenses to ensure compliance with Bank policies and cost-effectiveness
Product Development and Enhancement
- Support the design and development of new products and services, ensuring timely submission to management for review
- Monitor and update the Bank’s product and service portfolio to incorporate new features and align with departmental strategies
Training and Capacity Building
- Conduct orientation workshops for staff to enhance understanding of Yako Bank’s products and services
- Prepare marketing materials such as brochures, posters, pamphlets, product manuals, and advertisements
- Train staff and service providers on products and facilitate entry into new markets
Business Growth and Profitability
- Drive profitability by introducing new products and reaching new customers
- Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate potential business locations for new branches or outlets
Strategic Partnerships
- Prepare and execute bids for funding and partnerships with key stakeholders
- Lead the identification, negotiation, and execution of strategic partnerships to support the Bank’s growth objectives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Business Segments, Digital Transformation, IT, MIS, Credit, Marketing, and Senior Management to ensure successful business development initiatives
- Oversee utilization of development partner financing lines
Product Development Process
- Lead the product development process, from testing and documentation to launching new solutions
Funding Opportunities
- Utilize tracking tools to identify, monitor, and report on new funding opportunities
Reporting and Impact
- Provide monthly performance updates to Senior Management, highlighting growth opportunities and improvements
Business Excellence and Innovation
- Promote a culture of business excellence and innovation to deliver superior customer solutions
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline, such as Statistics, Finance, or Accounting
- Practical training in banking and research
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, and complex contract negotiations
- Strong strategic thinking skills and a track record of influencing internal teams and managing external relationships
- Proven experience in product development and financial performance management
- Customer-focused, resourceful, and able to make sound decisions in a dynamic environment
- Strong understanding of industry and economic trends
- Knowledge of licensing and intellectual property is an advantage
- Entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to progress
