Role Overview

Job Title: Creative Content and Design Specialist

Organization: Fido Uganda

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Summary of the Job: We are adding creative people to our Marketing Team to help us tell great stories, build a strong brand presence, and engage closely with our customers as we expand into Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

Branding and Design

Make beautiful graphics, images, and layouts for social media, websites, emails, print materials, and in-app visuals.
Keep Fido's brand identity and design rules up to date so that all communication points are consistent.
Turn marketing goals into designs and visual concepts that are on-brand and high-quality.

Making Content

Plan, shoot, and edit both short and long movies for marketing, social media, events, and conveying stories about products.
Make high-quality photos and videos for online platforms.
Help make multimedia assets such simple 2D graphics, animations, and motion graphics.

Help with social media

Make innovative social media content that works well on sites like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X (Twitter).
Work with the Marketing Team to come up with and carry out content ideas that will appeal to Fido's audience in Uganda.
Keep up with what's popular on social media and add new, creative ideas to your material.

Working together and getting things done

To make ideas come to life, work closely with copywriters, content creators, and campaign managers.
While meeting deadlines and keeping the quality of your work high, you can manage more than one creative project at a time.
When needed, give creative guidance and comments to freelancers, production partners, and outside agencies.

Tools and Technology

Use design tools that are common in the field, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects).
Use Figma and other technologies that let people work together to come up with and show off design ideas.
Keep up with new design tools, editing tools, AI design platforms, and other creative ideas.

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

Required:

A bachelor's degree or similar expertise in graphic design, multimedia, visual arts, digital marketing, or a related discipline.
Experience in graphic design and content creation that can be proven, preferably in a marketing, digital media, or advertising setting.
A strong portfolio that shows off your design, social media graphics, and video work (both shooting and editing).
Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
Have used Figma and other current design tools before.
Ability to use professional cameras or high-end mobile devices to shoot and edit videos.
Good knowledge of color theory, typography, layout, and design ideas.
A lot of imagination and the ability to put ideas into interesting pictures.
Ability to work quickly and fulfill tight deadlines.
Good in talking and working with others.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

Has worked with motion graphics and short animations before.
You should know the basics of HTML and CSS for email templates.
A good grasp of social media trends and how to make material work better.
Have worked in financial or digital companies that are growing quickly.
