Job Summary

The Fleet Officer is in charge of running, coordinating, and keeping costs down for the company's domestic logistics and fuel operations.

 This includes managing the company's own fleet of vehicles, arranging transportation services from other companies, and making sure that fuel is used and reported efficiently 

The job is very important for making sure that coffee is moved safely and cheaply from the field to the Nyabirongo facility and then to Kampala

Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities

Managing Resources and Fuel

• Keep an eye on and report on how much fuel each vehicle uses, noting any differences and making sure that fuel is used efficiently
• Set up ways to keep track of how much each car costs per kilometer or liter
• Keep precise records of gasoline distribution, receipts, and storage
• Make sure that all operational sites have the right fuel security and storage

Coordinating and Reporting on Logistics

• Make and keep track of delivery schedules that work with the times when factories take in and send out goods
• Make sure that the whole domestic logistics system functions smoothly and cheaply, with as few delays as possible and as many resources as possible
• Every week and every month, make reports on how vehicles travel, how much gasoline they consume, how much it costs to use third-party transportation, and how well logistics KPIs are doing
• Help with logistics planning during busy harvest times and for unique projects

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

Skills and Requirements:
A lot of experience with Ugandan road networks, transportation rules, and keeping costs down in fleets
Have worked with outside vendors and transportation contractors before
Good at using Microsoft Excel and fleet tracking tools
You need a valid driving permit (Class B/C)
Good at planning and working together
Very focused on budgeting and keeping costs down
Able to analyze and report well
Able to talk to field teams and high management clearly
A lot of honesty, discipline, and dependability
Very good with people and able to do a good job with people of various levels and roles
