Job Summary:
DRC Uganda is currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated person to join our dynamic team as a Grants Management Specialist.
Make sure that DRC follows the country's rules for managing grants, take the lead on reporting to donors, and work with the Support Services team to get the information that donors ask for.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing Grants and Making Sure They Are Compliant
- Evaluate and improve the country office's ability to follow DRC's grant management rules and donor compliance.
- Make sure the country office follows the grants management system (GMS) on Dynamics.
- Make sure that all information related to grants is well-organized and has a clear filing structure on SharePoint.
- Help plan, run, and follow up on grant meetings.
- Attend monthly Project Management Meetings and share updates.
- Help keep track of how much money donors give out according to signed contracts.
Reporting
- Get feedback from the program and MEAL teams to make sure reports are of high quality and are sent in on time.
- Help come up with and carry out program quality tools and reporting schedules.
- Help keep track of what you've learned, what works, and what new ideas have been demonstrated to work.
- Help OPM and UNHCR report to the Refugee Response Plan.
Managing Partnerships
- Help with the partner assessment process and the paperwork for the collaboration.
- Help write and finalize partnership agreements.
- Help partners improve their capacity with program and support teams.
Other Duties
- Help with communication activities as needed
- Work with finance coworkers on budget follow-up and spending levels
- Train staff in the country or region office
- Help new coworkers get started
- Help with proposal writing activities as needed
Experience and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, economics, management, or a related field
- At least three years of experience managing grants for an international NGO
- Knowledge of donor rules and procedures (for US and European donors, EU funding mechanisms, and UN agencies)
- Experience successfully submitting reporting packages
- Experience building capacity and training national staff and partners
- Full professional proficiency in English with strong writing skills
