The Hatchery Hardware Supervisor (Nets & Ponds) oversees the preparation of ponds and ensures the functionality of nets and hapas.
The role maintains ponds, nets, and infrastructure in optimal, safe, and biosecure conditions to support continuous hatchery production It also involves managing teams, resources, and schedules to ensure efficient and reliable operations
Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities
Supervision and Control:
Lead and oversee daily activities of dredging, pond preparation, hapa handling, and net repair teams
Conduct regular inspections of ponds, nets, and hapas to ensure compliance with quality and operational standards
Develop work plans, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure timely task completion
Health, Safety, and Biosecurity:
Ensure all pond and net-related activities adhere to health, safety, and biosecurity regulations
Verify that cleaning, disinfecting, and repairs meet hatchery standards
Promptly identify hazards or risks and implement preventive or corrective actions
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records and logs for pond preparation, hapa deployment, and net maintenance
Submit weekly progress reports and incident summaries to the Team Lead
Propose operational improvements to minimize equipment damage and downtime
Learning and Development:
Train and mentor team members on net handling, pond preparation, and biosecurity practices
Enhance team capabilities through on-the-job coaching and performance feedback
Additional Responsibilities:
Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager

Education
A bachelor’s degree in fisheries, aquaculture, or a related field
Experience
At least two years of experience in aquaculture ponds and nets
Skills: Proven supervisory and organizational skills Strong knowledge of pond preparation, net and hapa maintenance, and safety protocols Ability to effectively organize work and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
