Job Summary

The Shop Supervisor oversees daily shop operations, develops strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, achieves sales and profit targets, and effectively manages the shop’s workforce

 The role ensures smooth operations, high-quality customer service, and compliance with safety and hygiene standards

Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities

  • Drive and meet sales goals by increasing brand awareness, sales initiatives, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure exceptional customer experiences, meeting and exceeding customer demands
  • Train, motivate, mentor, and provide feedback to shop staff to achieve sales goals
  • Manage consumer payments through the shop’s Point of Sale (POS) system, handling transactions, ensuring correct pricing, and issuing receipts
  • Ensure fish freshness by consistently applying proper icing procedures
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of fish products, including new lines and offers, and share it confidently with customers and coworkers
  • Oversee proper fish handling during processing to prevent product damage
  • Handle all banking tasks for the store, including deposits and securing change
  • Train and mentor shop staff to meet sales goals and monitor their performance
  • Implement business strategies to attract more customers, increase foot traffic, and boost revenue
  • Ensure compliance with quality, housekeeping, and food safety management procedures
  • Build lasting and valuable customer relationships
  • Complete administrative tasks, including timely submission of employee paperwork and reports
  • Regularly check fish quality, ensuring proper handling, storage, processing, and packing
  • Address customer complaints, ensuring satisfactory solutions for both customers and Yalelo
  • Proactively improve and evolve processes to enhance customer service
  • Strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Engage with customers openly and interactively to build lasting, trust-based relationships
  • Ensure the safety of business property
  • Prepare detailed reports on sales, customer needs, and purchase trends
  • Maintain consistent inventory levels and place fresh orders as needed
  • Prioritize the highest health and safety standards in all shop operations
  • Ensure compliance with government and legal regulations
  • Regularly inspect premises and equipment, such as fridges, POS systems, and generators, for safety and functionality

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

RequirementDetails
EducationA bachelor’s degree in business administration or a comparable field
ExperienceAt least four years of experience working in a store

Skills:
Good at leading and managing customers
Focused on customer service and has extensive knowledge of business operations
Great in communicating and building relationships
Able to use a computer and MS Office
Must be able to maintain quality, be organized, and accurate
Willing and able to work long hours and meet tight deadlines when needed
Able to work in a multicultural environment
