The Head of Talent & Culture will work directly with the General Manager and be in charge of hiring, training, managing performance, and making sure that labor laws and corporate standards are followed in Uganda.

Responsibilities, Duties, and Roles
Hiring and Onboarding
Manage the whole hiring process, from posting jobs to finding candidates, vetting them, interviewing them, and choosing the best one
Run onboarding programs to make sure that new hires become a part of the company's culture and operations
Keep proper records of the hiring process and the candidates you have lined up
Relations with Employees
Be the first person employees can turn to with questions, and help create a pleasant and welcoming workplace culture
Handle employee complaints, problems, and conflicts in a fair and timely manner
Encourage programs that get employees involved to boost morale and productivity
Managing Performance
Help put in place processes for evaluating employee performance through performance reviews Help employees develop performance goals and provide them feedback
Work with management to figure out what training and development needs exist
Learning and Growth
Plan and run training programs to help employees improve their abilities and advance their careers
Find ways for employees to learn and coordinate professional development programs
Keep an eye on and rate how well training programs work
HR Management and Compliance
Keep accurate and current records of employees in line with corporate policy and Ugandan labor regulations
Manage employee benefits, such as health insurance, leave, and other welfare programs
Make sure you follow all legal requirements, like NSSF, PAYE, and other rules and regulations
Make HR reports and metrics to help with making decisions
Putting Policies into Action
Help create and put into action HR policies and procedures
Make sure that corporate rules are clear and fair by communicating them and enforcing them
Keep up with the latest HR trends and best practices so you can suggest ways to make current processes better

Education
A bachelor's degree in business administration, human resource management, or a related discipline
Other Qualifications and Skills: At least three years of experience in human resources or a related field A lot of understanding about Ugandan labor laws and best practices for HR
Great communication and people skills, with the ability to gain the trust and respect of workers at all levels
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems)
Good at organizing things and managing time, with a strong focus on details
Ability to handle private information with care and professionalism The ability to solve problems on your own or with others and be proactive
