Job Summary
The IFGD Project and Policy Support Officer will support the coordination and implementation of projects and policies under the Institutional Fundraising and Grant Management (IFGD) mission. The role involves enhancing IFGD systems, coordinating projects and policies, and supporting institutional account management, with responsibilities split approximately 40% project/policy assistance, 20% coordination, and 60% account management support, evolving with the AP2026 planning process.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
Support for IFGD Systems and Processes (40%)
- Assist with grants data processes, including activating grants and partner funding agreements, ensuring compliance with internal controls and donor requirements
- Support program colleagues in using Rafiki for accurate and timely data entry
- Serve as the point of contact for the Bid Committee, coordinating meetings and monitoring the dedicated inbox
- Analyze trends and challenges in IFGD to recommend improvements in work procedures, tools, systems, and policies
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in institutional fundraising and grant administration quality
Project and Policy Execution and Coordination (20%)
- Review IFGD policies, guidelines, and procedures with the Head of IFGD and team leads to identify issues and propose improvements
- Organize training and rollout sessions for new or updated IFGD policies and procedures
- Ensure efficient coordination of policy and project information using WCAF and Alliance tools (e.g., IF ACG, policy committee)
INGO Institutional Account Management Support (40%)
- Support management of key partnerships with INGOs and R&D partners, including identifying grant opportunities
- Monitor trends and donor objectives to develop actionable fundraising strategies
- Assist with registration, updates, and agreements for INGO and R&D opportunities
- Ensure alignment of INGO partner information across WCAF departments and systems
- Collaborate with finance to track grant activities and ensure compliance
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- University degree in a relevant field
- Experience in the humanitarian field, particularly in institutional fundraising and grant management
- Key Skills:- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues
- Ability to implement policies and communicate complex ideas clearly
- Adaptability to changing institutional needs and market conditions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace
- Strong critical and logical thinking for problem-solving
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other WCA languages is an advantage
